A most welcomed break in the weather gave our outing to Droitwich Golf Club a calm and sunny day for our annual greensomes competition. The course was in excellent condition and the team scores reflected the good playing surface. The greens were especially good.

Before setting out the Chairman's Cap was awarded to Russ Ralph who managed to enter himself in competitions at Broadway and St. Pierre on the same day. A keen golfer but that's pushing it a bit!!

A closely fought competition resulted in a win for Duncan Beale and Tom Jelfs with an excellent score of 44 points,( this with not scoring on the 17^th). Runners up were last year's winners Simon Waldron and Steve Heritage on 43 points with David Morris and Brian Downey in third place edging out Brian Lawrence and Malcolm Hedges both with 39 points.

Nearest the pin on the 18^th hole was won by Brian Lawrence who with Malcolm Hedges also won the nearest the pin in two on the 9^th .

Well done to all the winners and the 12 teams who took part to make this such an enjoyable day.

A golfer's supper at DGC was followed by the après golf at The Bell.

The next outing is The Annual Days at St. Pierre followed by our visit to Redditch Golf Club on 26^th July - entry sheet available at The Bell.
