Outing to Sapey Golf Club on 26thFebruary 2014
Having suffered the wettest winter for 200 years it was not unexpected that the Sapey course was somewhat wet underfoot!! This however did nothing to spoil a great competition with The Coach & Horses for the Neale Wolder Memorial Trophy.
14 players from the Coach& Horses and 22 players from The Bell took part.
Before setting of in dry and sunny weather, we enjoyed coffee and bacon rolls.
The Stableford competition threw up a large variation in scores but nothing could beat the 40 points by Nick Everall of the Coach & Horses to take the trophy with Bell players Keith Burke (38 points) runner up and Brian Lawrence (37 points) in third place.
Nearest the pin in 2 shots on the 3rd hole was also won by Nick Everall with Russ Ralph winning the nearest the pin on the 17th hole.
In the post dinner presentations Chairman Phil Bennett proposed a toast to absent friends and advised that £180 had been raised for a charity to be decided by Vikki.
Doug responded that The Coach & Horses now looked forward to The McWolder Cup match on Friday 11th July at Broadway GC and would put out the strongest team to try and regain the cup.
An excellent golfers’ dinner rounded of the day with après golf at the Bell.
Handicap Report
